21-year old singer and songwriter Marina Kaye has released his new single titled “The Whole 9” via PIAS Recordings, as she steers more and more towards her alt-pop sensibilities. The accompanying video for “The Whole 9” has already hit half a million views in virtually no time.
Not new to the music scene, Marina Kaye began singing at the young age of 13 and while as a teenager, she performed much of her over a hundred headline shows. Her debut album ‘Fearless’, which was released via Capitol Music, has sold over three million copies, and she has frequently performed with the likes of Thirty Seconds To Mars and Lindsey Sterling.
Speaking about her new track ‘The Whole 9’, which is the second offering from her upcoming new album, Marina says, “My childhood resulted in some deep scars leaving me with a complicated personality where things tend to be either very black or, less often totally white. Anyone wanting to enter my life, or keep up with me, has to try to deal with this without hurting me.
I’m getting much better at managing my personality, but it will always be there. Building a lasting relationship means this person has to understand my past and accept this. The song is about letting this person into my life, with a reminder of how this can turn out”.
