Funk Singer Connor Patterson Unveils New Single ‘The Long Game’ | Music News

British funk/pop artist Connor Patterson has just released his brand-new single “The Long Game”, the title track for his upcoming debut album, set to come out later this month.

Featuring British vocalist Tilly Valentine on jazzy backing vocals, the track is a groovy neo-soul track with a prominent bassline and catchy melody. It adds a more neo-soul style to his usual vintage funk sound, and notably contains an organ solo from Connor.

Having performed at Ronnie Scott’s, Connor also brings in his jazz influence through his organ and piano playing, which Tilly compliments with her scat singing.

Connor Patterson is an independent funk/pop artist and producer who has worked with artists such as Fleur East, Mind Massage and Tamaraebi. His creative blend of jazz, R&B and pop give Connor’s live performances an exciting edge, with the use of live loops and instrumental variety.

Having gigged around the UK since the age of 19, Connor began releasing regular singles this year, and is set to release his debut album in November, so stay tuned if you enjoy this piece. Recorded largely in his bedroom during lockdown, the soon-to-be-released album creatively blends gospel and soul elements with his usual funky style.
