The monumental success of Game of Thrones has plagued the series with an abundance of hacks, leaks, and spoilers. Securing the secrecy of what is to come is of greater importance than Khaleesi securing the Iron Throne, and showrunners are having to take some alternative precautions to ensure the show’s ending next season is kept completely under wraps.
In order to keep the winner of the game of thrones a secret, Game of Thrones will shoot multiple endings to the series finale, keeping everyone on the edge of their seats. HBO programming boss Casey Bloys revealed that even the show’s stars would be kept in the dark. By shooting “multiple versions…there’s no real definitive answer until the end,” and fans will be able to somewhat avoid the spoiling of the past.
The news comes after a season which saw two episodes and a script among the 1.5 terabytes of data stolen, and in part leaked, by hackers. With multiple versions being put out there, HBO likely hope that hackers won’t be able to decipher the authentic from fake in a future breach.
