When one door closes, another one opens, and very soon for some. After being dramatically executed in the season finale of Game of Thrones just last Sunday, Petyr Baelish actor Aidan Gillen is now set to play renowned Irish author James Joyce in a biopic.
The film centers on James Joyce, most known for his magnum opus Ulysses, and his struggle in caring for his daughter Lucia as her mental health deteriorates; once a professional dancer, she was diagnosed by Carl Jung as schizophrenic, unaided by an unrequited love for Samuel Beckett.
Robert Mullan (Mad To Be Normal, We Will Sing) writes and directs the film which is due to begin filming in early 2018 in Dublin and Luxembourg. The role of Lucia is yet to be cast.
Aidan Gillen can next be seen in Season 4 of Peaky Blinders, and is rumoured to be playing Alec Leamas in upcoming spy mini-series The Spy Who Came in from the Cold.
