You might know Glen Hansard from the beautiful 2007 indie-rock musical drama Once, which soundtrack earned him and Marketa Irglova an Oscar award and Grammy nomination. Since the successful film, Glen continued his work as lead singer of and Irish rock band The Frames and also released a couple of solo albums.
Now Glen is releasing his third solo album Between Two Shores and shares the music video for its opening track “Roll On Slow“. The song was inspired by the time when his girlfriend was away and Glen was desperately missing her.
Directed by Piotr Kabat, the animated hand-drawn video portrays the artist himself, drowning in sadness and drinking too much. The man wanders around the bars and streets of New York City, smoking, drinking and fighting.
In support of his new album, Glen Hansard will embark on a European tour, starting on February 9 in London, you can find the dates and tickets here.
