To all those early lifelong pop punk fans, you have the right to be excited after the modernised announcement of #welcomebackGC was made. That’s right, after a four year hiatus, Good Charlotte have returned and are set to release album number six. Their astonishing 20-year career has consisted of five genre defining albums under their belt. Their most recent being Cardiology, released in 2010. In an interview with Rolling Stone four years ago, they announced plans to “step away from the grind of making records and touring for a minute“. That was an awfully long ‘minute’ I have to say!
However, all is forgiven as the band uploaded a short video presenting new material. The following lyrics are texted on a phone in the video: “I’m dying tonight and the whole world is laughing / Like everyone I know has gone away / I’m dying tonight… But no one is crying / It’s not alright, no matter what they say“.
