The vocals of singer-songwriter Mikky Ekko introduce you to the sounds of Gorgon City’s latest release, “Impaired Vision”. The London-based production duo are also joined by rising rapper, Tink.
“Impaired Vision” opens with sparse keyboard and some pretty sultry vocals, a potential candidate for summer in the coming weeks. This is joined, in turn, by moody, low and humming keyboard, before picking up again with that sparse beginning. It is a good mixture of Ekko’s sung hook and Tink’s rapped verses.
The Will Robson-Scott-directed visual is filmed out in Tink’s native Chicago, taking a tour of the moody city. It is generally dark and dank, in abandoned buildings. There is occasional respite, like electricity pylons amidst the grass of some trees. This is further conveyed with tree branches, sandwiched between bridges and, amongst other things, a recording studio.
