Greta Bellamacina (The Sceptered Isle) and Amber Anderson (Peaky Blinders) have signed on to play the lead roles in Jaclyn Bethany‘s upcoming film, Tell That To The Winter Sea.
Set in a British countryhouse the weekend before one of the women is set to get married, the film explores the two re-connecting as the wedding looms over them, examining both their friendship, how they clicked as dancers, and their teenage romance.
Los Angeles-based choreographer Sadie Wilking, who trained at the London School of Contemporary Dance, will choreograph the film. Bellamacina will also co-write the script alongside Bethany. The film is a U.K./U.S. co-production from Sulk Youth Films and BKE Productions.
Bethany, an American Film Institute graduate, previously directed Highway One and Emmy-winning digital series The Rehearsal.
Bellamacina will next be seen in anticipated Apple TV+ limited series The Essex Serpent, while Anderson recently had roles in Joanna Hogg‘s excellent The Souvenir Part II, Autumn De Wilde‘s Emma, and the latest season of Peaky Blinders.
Tell That To The Winter Sea will begin shooting in the UK in the Spring.
