What would ease the reunion of a band whose frontman and lead guitarist famously fell out 20 years ago, and have been bad-mouthing each other in the press ever since? How about being paid $3million per show? That’s the figure that Axl Rose and Slash are hoping to negotiate for a potential Guns N’ Roses reunion headlining the Coachella Festival 2016, and a summer tour of 25 American football stadiums, according to Billboard. That’s an eye-watering $75 million if the band clinch their deal.
Guns N’ Roses spent 5 weeks at No.1 in the Billboard 200 chart, with their first album, Appetite For Destruction – which went on to sell 18 million copies, making it the biggest-selling debut album in U.S. history. Slash quit the band in 1996, and 16 years later, he told Rolling Stone that Axl Rose “hates my guts“. But with $75 million up for grabs, now is probably a good time to let bygones be bygones.
