Gwendoline Christie is the latest star to join the cast of the untitled Robert Zemeckis movie, joining Steve Carell, Leslie Mann and Diane Kruger.
Gwendoline Christie rocketed to fame after commencing her role as Brienne of Tarth in HBO’s Game of Thrones; she has since joined the Star Wars franchise as Captain Phasma, and starred in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 (2015).
Robert Zemeckis‘ untitled Universal drama will tell the story of Mark (Steve Carell), “a victim of a brutal attack [who] finds a unique and beautiful therapeutic outlet to help him through his recovery process“. Christie joins the cast as Mark’s Russian carer, Anna, a role seemingly far removed from the warrior Brienne.
Robert Zemeckis is the owner of a remarkable repertoire, having directed the Back to the Future series, Forrest Gump and, most recently, Allied.
Gwendoline Christie wrote on twitter that she was “so proud” to be a part of the project, and I’m just as excited to see her perform in such a different role.
