Having recently appeared in M. Night Shyamalan‘s Split, American actress Haley Lu Richardson has now joined Nazi thriller Operation Finale. Richardson joins Oscar Isaac and Ben Kingsley in the film, the latter of whom will portray famed Holocaust architect Adolf Eichmann.
The capture of Adolf Eichmann is the focus of the film, said to embody thrillers such as Argo and Munich. After fleeing to Argentina at the end of the Second World War, Eichmann lived in hiding until Israel spy agency, Mossad, tracked him down and smuggled him out of the country. A well publicised trial ensued before he was finally executed for War Crimes, Genocide, and Crimes Against Humanity in 1962.
Richardson joins the project to play Sylvia Herman, the girlfriend of Eichmann’s son, Klaus (Joe Alwyn). She at first was hopelessly in love with Klaus and refused to hear her own father’s warnings about the family, but eventually was the one to turn Eichmann over to Mossad.
Chris Weitz (About a Boy, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Golden Compass) directs Operation Finale, with writing by absolute newcomer to the industry, Matthew Orton. Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Fred Berger produce along with Isaac and Inspire Entertainment’s Jason Spire.
Production will begin October 1 in Argentina.
