For its new campaign, Italian fashion house Gucci has created an original setting by staging a talk show with a five-star cast. Harry Style, Dakota Johnson, Serena Williams, Diane Keaton, Awkwafina and Sienna Miller join host James Corden on the set of Gucci’s talk show, each of them staging pieces of the Gucci Beloved campaign, centred on the brand’s legendary bags.
“We decided to show the concept of ‘beloved’ in an ironic way in the campaign, being inspired by the fact that bags are the protagonists in my life and in the lives of many other people”, said Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele in a press release.
The talk show has become a true pop culture reference. The format combines creativity and information and is also a way to discover celebrities from a new perspective. So when Gucci looked at the subject of its Gucci Beloved campaign, it was a no-brainer. Creative Director Alessandro Michele invited the Italian fashion house’s friends to participate in a playful staging.
One by one, all the Late Late Show host’s guests showcased their favourite accessories. English singer Harry Styles wore a long fur coat and a very 70s outfit accompanied by the brand’s famous flagship bag, the Jackie 1961.
Dakota Johnson, on the other hand, was dressed in sequins and never left her Dyonisos bag. Presented at Michele’s first womenswear presentation for autumn/winter 2015, this unique model draws on the mythological pools of inspiration dear to the designer. Serena Williams and Awkwafina opted for the GG Marmont bag.
The two actresses Sienna Miller and Diane Keaton opted for different bags. Miller wore the Jackie 1961 bag, as did Styles, but this time with the brand’s GG Supreme canvas, unlike Styles, who preferred it in smooth black leather. As for Keaton, the actress proudly showed off her 1955 Gucci Horsebit.
You can of course find all your favourite bags and those of the stars on the Gucci website, as well as a video of the campaign and the exclusive photos just below.
