Helen Mirren has just signed up to play the only Israel female Prime Minister as the main character in Golda, a biopic movie produced by Michael Khun and directed by the Israeli director Guy Nattiv.

The renowned actress will embody the legendary Golda Meir, the only woman that was the head of Israel, a bold and strong role that will suit perfectly to Mirren, and which has delighted the director.

Guy Nattiv said about the biopic, “As someone who was born during the Yom Kippur War, I am honored to tell this fascinating story about the first and only woman to ever lead Israel.

Nicholas Martin’s brilliant script dives into Golda’s final chapter as the country faces a deadly surprise attack during the holiest day of the year, a core of delusional generals undermining Golda’s judgment, all the while undergoing secret treatments for her illness. I could not be more excited to work with the legendary Miss Mirren to bring this epic, emotional and complex story to life”.

Nattiv has recently won an Academy Award for his short film Skin, as well as Mirren that was awarded for her performance in The Queen as Elizabeth II.
