Australian duo Hockey Dad have premiered “the sunny, surf-centric” visuals for their new track “So Tired” via Brooklyn Vegan, who said: “The video is full of “teenage horror surf rock Super 8 footage filmed in and around the boys hometown.” If it doesn’t make a lot of sense, you can still tell they had a lot of fun making it”.
The track is from their debut album Boronia which is due for release via Brooklyn indie label Kanine Records on August 12. The duo consists of Zach Stephenson (guitars/vocals) and Billy Fleming (drums) who started off as friends and moved onto making music inspired by their surroundings. The past year has seen the duo move from aspiring garage band to Australian indie pop stars. They released their first EP Dreamin’ on local Aussie label Farmer and the Owl. Since then, they have made festival appearances in their hometown as well as in 2015 when they headed stateside for CMJ where they met up with Brooklyn indie Kanine Records and cemented a deal to release their debut album in the US.
Their debut album Boronia is a testament of the good times that the boys have pouring out of them. And now they want to share those good times with the world.
