Honne – All In The Value | New Music

I just cannot get enough of the soulful electronic sounds coming from duo Honne, hailing from the UK, the two guys together have already released two stunning singles and a cheeky remix this year, gathering an array of support from the likes of BBC Radio 1 (Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens), BBC 6 Music and BBC 1Xtra. And now on their latest effort, “All In The Value”, the escapist but intimate blend of nocturnal R&B with classic soul song writing is empowering once again, and this time they dig even deeper with infusions of Frank Ocean, making the song utterly compelling and yet completely unique at the same time.

“All In The Value” draws on the feelings of failings in relationships, where you can sense the other person’s interest has begun to fade, and contains a beautiful and raw contrast of sensuality and sadness. This mix of two emotions has become a steady theme throughout their work right down to the name Honne, that is inspired by a trip overseas and is a Japanese word for “True Feelings”, and is often contrasted with tatemae (or, one’s outward behaviour). “All In The Value” will be released on November 24 via Super Recordings (AlunaGeorge, Bondax), and in support of this, the duo have also confirmed plans for their first ever live show, that will be taking place at London’s Sebright Arms on the same day as the release.
