Hurts have released the music video for “Wish” which is shot in monochrome to match the song’s melancholic vibe. Whilst Theo Hutchcraft sings of regret and missed opportunities, the camera slowly pans by, along with shots of Adam Anderson playing a grand piano. Towards the end, a feminine shape stands behind a translucent screen, reaching out before slowly retreating, which give lyrics like, “I wish that I told you then what I realise now” and, “I wish that I told you when you were still around” more emotion despite the simple action. The video was directed by Bryan Adams and “Wish” features on upcoming album Surrender which drops on October 9. Watch the sombre but beautiful video below.
