Introducing London-based indie pop singer and songwriter FAYYE with her brand new single titled “She“, which is taken from her debut EP, which will be exploring Fayye’s personal experiences growing up, over progressive pop and jazz music landscapes.
Speaking about “She” and the rest of her brand new debut EP, Fayye says, “I want my music to tell a story; to be slightly arresting, haunting, unexpected in some way. I hope those who listen will find it removes them from their everyday, just for a moment“.
Fayye’s music draws further influences from the Greek and Irish folk music she grew up with as a child, classical piano music, the 90’s pop and soul of her teenage years, her study of poetry and London’s current jazz scene, with these influences coming together nicely on her new track “She” as well as the rest of her new EP.
According to Fayye, “She” tells the story of a woman with a fervent independence of spirit, who leaves people in her wake, and takes particular inspiration from the Irish poems of Yeats and Louis McNeice – especially those celebrating the beauty of fleeting moments, as well as famous female characters in cinema like Vianne Rocher in Chocolat and Vicki in The Thomas Crowne Affair.
