Oscar Isaac To Star In Ben Stiller’s High-Concept Thriller ‘London’ | Film News

Oscar Isaac has signed on to star in a high-concept thriller from Ben Stiller for Lionsgate. The film is titled London, and based on a new short story from bestselling crime writer Jo Nesbo. Hollywood veteran Eric Roth will pen the script. Isaac himself obtained the rights in a competitive market and will produce via his Mad Gene Media banner alongside his longtime manager Jason Spire.

Unfortunately, there are no plot details available yet. However, Isaac starring in a film helmed by Stiller and written by Roth is a juicy enough start to at least begin getting intrigued. Stiller has quietly had a solid directorial career, helming films such as Zoolander and Tropic Thunder, while most recently directing the Showtime limited series Escape At Dannemora.

Isaac is now established as a major star thanks to his Star Wars work, but also his impressive lead roles in films such as Inside Llewyn Davis and Ex Machina. He’s got a bunch of exciting projects lined up too, including Denis Villeneuve‘s Dune reboot and Paul Schrader‘s The Card Counter, which pairs him with Tye Sheridan, Tiffany Haddish and Willem Dafoe.

Roth might not be as big of a name as the other two, but he’s written films such as The Insider, Forrest Gump, The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, Munich, and A Star Is Born. Those are some heavyweight directors he’s worked with too, so you know he’s a trusted screenwriter if names such as Steven Spielberg and David Fincher are tackling his scripts.

Now we’ll play the waiting game and hope for some actual plot details regarding London to emerge soon.
