Irish rapper JyellowL has just released a brand-new single called “Home”, taken from his debut album D|vision that has just come out.
The song carries a nice a light message of love and feeling of belonging somewhere with some people, highlighted by nice keyboards melodies, which is quite enjoyable in these tough times.
In a recent interview with Notion Magazine, the 21-year-old rapper stated that his music is “like a pack of Skittles; a combination of flavours that create a sweet sensation, but when you dip blindly into it you never know what you’re going to get” and this album is clearly no different.
JyellowL, aka Jean-Luc Uddoh, first released music in 2017 with his debut single “Life Right Now”, and although raw, the record already displayed an authentic, socially-conscious mindset that he still carries today.
The end of 2018 marked a pivotal moment in JyellowL’s career as he was invited to support two legendary rappers Nelly and Jay Rock on the Irish leg of their respective tours. Following this, he has embarked on his own headline tours, supported his hero The Game and found himself included on the FIFA 20 soundtrack with his 2019 single “Ozone”.
D|vision is a nice and original project, spanning across a number of genres from jazz and soul to afro swing, full of clever wordplay, braggadocios bars and conscious lyricism. We recommend you listen to the album if you enjoy “Home”.
