One of Ireland’s most promising and emerging talents, singer-songwriter Seba Safe has unveiled his new single “Oscars”.
Since the acclaimed EP Map Runner, which saw the Galway artist debut, Seba Safe has shown that he is a multitalented artist ready for the world stage. Sincerely and openly writings about intimate relationships, love, loss and change, which can be understood by each listener, is the personal touch of Seba Safe.
He mastered his skills in 2019 in the Wicklow Mountains, where he wrote a large number of songs. He mixes folk, dance and R&B sounds alongside meaningful lyrics, directly inspired by folk pop artists like Maggie Rodgers, Big Thief and Julien Baker.
He has also been receiving strong radio and streaming support, receiving the Track of The Day honour on KEXP for his collaborative “I Dance In The Kitchen” with Æ MAK. The likes of BBC 6 Music and RTE Radio 1 have also shown the Irish artist strong support.
Freshly signed by the expanding label Nettwerk, known for being home to Passenger, Stu Larsen and Harrison Storm house, Seba Safe has revealed his new track “Oscars”.
The poignant song gives a fresh twist by its simple but melancholic lyrics thought the artist warm voice.
Speaking about the song, the artist says “It’s about acting happy when you’re not, so friends and family don’t worry about you. Using happiness as a front. Also, the song questions the authenticity of other people’s happiness”.
