Rising actor Owen Teague is reuniting with It director Andy Muschetti for the upcoming Hulu pilot Locke & Key. Teague joins his It co-stars Jackson Robert Scott and Megan Charpentier in the horror-fantasy drama, forming a sweet reunion under Muschietti.
Locke & Key is based on comics by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez, revolving “around three siblings who, after the gruesome murder of their father, move to their ancestral home in Maine with their mother Nina, only to find the house has magical keys that give them a vast array of powers and abilities. Little do they know, a devious demon also wants the keys, and will stop at nothing to attain them.”
Joe Hill has himself adapted the comics to the screen, to be directed by Muschietti. Frances O’Connor, Jack Mulhern, Nate Corddry and Danny Glover are also attached to the pilot.
Teague, who also starred in Bloodline, is set to play Sam Lesser, “a violent and deeply troubled adolescent who kills his own father and then goes on the Locke house and shoots the Locke kids father to death, in addition to battering their mother“. Angst is an understatement.
Though a date hasn’t been set, Lock & Key’s pilot will be hoping to develop into a full season; the hype around Muschietti’s name might just allow for that.
