Patriot’s Day, an upcoming CBS Films and Lionsgate production that is set to chronicle the events surrounding the 2013 Boston Marathon Bombing, has added Oscar nominated J.K.Simmons to its cast. Simmons is set to join fellow cast member Mark Wahlberg in the film.
Simmons is reportedly set to play Watertown PD Sgt.Jeffery Pugliese, while Wahlberg will play a Boston cop who investigates the marathon bombing plot. No other cast members have yet been announced. Peter Berg is set to direct the movie, which is set to start shooting next month in Boston, and slated for a January 2017 release.
