Per Deadline, Jaime King has singed on to star alongside Frank Grillo in psychological thriller Man’s Son. Remy Grillo, Frank’s son, is directing the film for XYZ Films.
The story will revolve around a young couple hoping to create an aesthetically pleasing audition tape for an up-and-coming Charles Manson film. But when they choose an eclectic desert Airbnb as the perfect backdrop, the dark events of the audition material slowly slip into their reality. Eventually, they find themselves intertwined in the sinister plot of two occult leaders.
King and Grillo will play the occult leaders. The couple have not been cast yet. Josh Plasse and Brev Moss have written the screenplay, which is inspired by actual occult activity in the California desert.
King is the producer and star of Netflix’s zombie apocalypse series Black Summer, and recently starred opposite Bruce Willis in action film Out Of Death. She will also star alongside Grillo in another upcoming film, Lights Out, and will co-star with Antonio Banderas in another action film – Jon Keeyes‘ Banshee.
Grillo recently wrapped production on biopic Lamborghini, based on the life story of Lamborghini founder Ferruccio Lamborghini and directed by Bobby Moresco.
Filming on Man’s Son is scheduled to begin this month in Yucca Valley, California.
