As soon as Tom Hardy pulled out of playing bad-ass Rick Flag in the up-and-coming Suicide Squad movie, everybody questioned who would fill the Hardy shaped hole and Nightcrawler star Jake Gyllenhaal was the first on the speculation list. Alas, it seems Gyllenhaal has passed on the opportunity to become part of the anti-hero gang, according to Variety.
It looks as if it’s back to the drawing board for David Ayer, who’s directing the DC flick. With Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Cara Delevigne, Jared Leto and Jai Courtney setting up an epic cast, they’re going to have to find somebody who can keep up with such huge talent.
