Jamaican Artist Shenseea Unveils Highly Anticipated Debut Album ‘Alpha’

Jamaican artist and rising global talent Shenseea has released her debut album titled “Alpha”.

The album showcases the Jamaican artist’s compositional talent and ear for ravenous melodies and hooks on a genre-spanning record grounded in dancehall, hip hop, and pop. Rvssian (her longterm colleague and Rich Immigrants creator), Scott Storch, and London On Da Track all contribute stellar production to the album.

Shenseea kicks off the album with the sensuous “Target”, followed by tunes like “Deserve It”, “Shen Ex Anthem”, and dancehall anthems like “Henkel Glue” with veteran Beenie Man, as well as heartfelt choruses like “Body Count” and “Sun Comes Up”, which highlight Shenseea’s vocal abilities.

The Jamaican artist’s journey to Alpha has so far been meteoric, with her being named Apple’s Up Next artist, MTV’s Push artist, and iHeart Radio’s On The Verge artist. In 2021, she was recruited by Kanye West to contribute her lyrical and voice touch to two tracks on the now Grammy-nominated DONDA and she also performed at Rolling Loud Miami and New York for the first time.

Shenseea is likely to be one of the year’s blockbuster artists, with her songwriting, performing, and directing skills. Shenseea has risen through the ranks of Jamaican dancehall, becoming one of the genre’s most coveted musicians. She rose to prominence after her viral track “Loodi” featuring Vybez Kartel went viral; the following year, she toured Europe with dancehall legend Sean Paul.

Shenseea signed with Interscope Records in 2019, and her debut label song, “Blessed” with Tyga, was premiered in that same year and now has 57 million views on Youtube. Hypebeast, The FADER, PAPER Magazine and VIBE Magazine, among others have quickly become some of her biggest fans
