Since 2017, HOMECOMING has developed one of the most anticipated events of the year in Lagos, where African talent and creativity in the fields of style, music, and sport have been celebrated and supported.
This vibrant and colorful event has blended incredible performances by international artists, like Skepta, Central Cee, J Hus, Lancey Foux, and Arrdee, and rising stars, like Wizkid, Davido, Niniola, and Tiwa Savage.
In 2018, the power of this cultural event attracted the popular Irish whiskey company Jameson to join the movement, and now Jameson and HOMECOMING have launched a new collaboration called #ALLCONNECT, which aims at connecting creative communities across the African diaspora, over a shared love of music, style, and of course, a glass of whiskey.
This already amazing duo have also been joined by Patta, a streetwear brand from Amsterdam, who have been announced as creative collaborator of this initiative.
#ALLCONNECT is the reflection of the global interest in Africa, with its art, music, and design dominating mainstream global culture.
Jameson, HOMECOMING, and Patta will take part in three events organised in the cities of London, Atlanta, and Lagos. Three continents will come together with #ALLCONNECT, celebrating like-minded artists, and their creativity, amplifying African culture and talent.
Grace Ladoja, the founder of HOMECOMING said: “All eyes are on Africa, and it’s a very exciting time. Homecoming has been building a global community over the past five years and organically amplifying African creatives”.
“With #ALLCONNECT we are excited to connect people in real life taking them out of Africa for the first time to the UK and USA and bringing people to Lagos for their first Homecoming experience, offering a unique opportunity of genuine connection”, Ladoja continued.
Every city will present special guests and surprise appearances, to highlight and promote the best each local scene has to offer. The first event will be held in London on August 29, followed by Atlanta, on September 3, and closing in Lagos, on September 11, with confirmed artists including LVRN, Julie Adenuga, DJ Obi, DJ Spinall, Izzy Bossy, Teezee, Korin and Patta Soundsystem.
All profits from the last show in Lagos will be donated towards WAF Skatepark, a cultural and cross-generational exchange project supported by WAFFLESNCREAM, Nigeria’s first skateboarding company.
