The incredibly hyped and most anticipated superhero film of the year Black Panther has finally arrived to cinemas, but that’s not all of the good news. The second music video from its soundtrack album has been unveiled too – with Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock and Future on top of the palm trees, skyscrapers and office tables.
It’s the video for the rappers’ collaboration on “King’s Dead” together with electronic music producer James Blake, who only has a short interlude in the track and doesn’t appear on the video. Directed by Dave Free and Jack Begert, the visuals include several unrelated scenes, all of which are equally powerful.
Some bizarre but majestic frames have already been turned into GIFs – you’ll understand why, when you watch it:
Curated by Kendrick Lamar and his label mate Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, Black Panther: The Album was released last week. Its first video for Kendrick and SZA‘s collaboration on film’s end credit song “All The Stars” has faced allegations by a British-Liberian artist, who claimed that the details of her painting was used without her permission.
