Jennifer Love Hewitt has joined the cast of TV crime drama series Criminal Minds on CBS. She will play FBI agent Kate Callahan who is an expert in her field and it is her character’s skill that gains her a role in the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU). Hewitt will regularly feature in episodes of season ten. Last season saw Dr. Alex Blake leave as she felt guilty about Reid taking a bullet for her, combined with her son’s death. Hewitt will co-star along show regulars Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson), Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore), Dr Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler), J.J Jareau (A.J. Cook), David Rossi (Joe Mantegna) and Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness). The new season begins on CBS on the 1st of October 2014 at 9pm EST.
