Following the release of his debut single “Blood“, VILD Music’s latest signing Jesse Markin returns with his new single “Treat”.
Whereas “Blood” leaned strongly towards indie-pop, we now see the emerging Liberian-born, Finnish artist broadening his style towards club-oriented rhythms balanced with harder beats and basslines on production. “Treat” has a distinct rumbling production that is not only undeniable but infectious. When you pair that with the way he lays his vocals on this particular track, it’s definitely a stand out.
Originally making his name as rapper for the group The Megaphone State – producing three critically-acclaimed hip-hop albums – his new solo project moves him forward both musically and thematically, broadening his style from rapping to singing for the first time.
Speaking on the track, Jesse states: “‘Treat’ is about dedication; Acknowledging your own mistakes and growth. I wanted a track that has a deeper and meaningful layer to it, with every listen you’re able to find something new.”
