The casting for the Snow White and The Huntsman spin-off The Huntsman is boasting some seriously big stars with Interstellar star, Jessica Chastain, now added to the list. The two-time Academy Award nominee will be joining Chris Hemsworth in the title role as well as newcomer Emily Blunt and Charlize Theron, who will reprise her role as the evil Queen.
Last month we found out that Frank Darabont had left the project with Cedric Nicolas-Troyan stepping in to make his directorial debut. While there are no confirmed plot details, it’s thought that the film reveals how Huntsman, Eric and Ravenna came to be, expanding on the 2012 movie. As we know, Kristen Stewart will not be reprising her role so another young, talented actress is likely to step in.
Chastain’s role is yet to be revealed but whatever role it is, I’m fairly certain she’ll rock it. I’m a huge fan of Chastain and her recent roles in the likes of Interstellar and A Most Violent Year just solidify her status as one of Hollywood’s finest. With an impressive cast, I’m actually optimistic about the spin-off, especially considering how disappointing the first movie was. The Huntsman is set for an April 22, 2016 release.
