Jessie Ware’s vocal talents are showcased under a stomping house guise, full of 90’s piano flare and deep bass rhythm in this new remix of “Desire”. The original version was a slow-burning album closer for her 2014 album Tough Love which gradually faded into an unwanted silence. This version is taken up a few notches by Toronto-based producers Rainer + Grimm who go alongside notable names such as Cyril Hahn and TOKiMONSTA by reworking one of Ware’s sophomore album tracks.
Keeping the focus on Ware’s voice and the track fairly generic in its navigation, allows Jessie Ware fans to hear her in a new light that could now appear on dance floors which were previously untouched by the London singer. Rainer + Grimm are building up quite a polished portfolio now, last year they took another of England’s pop gems in Sam Smith and gave his breakthrough “Stay With Me” an equally masterful production spin, attaching a new lease of electronic life to an already acclaimed song.
