A Quiet Place will mark two firsts for John Krasinski – the upcoming feature film will be his first major studio directorial release and the first film he’ll be appearing onscreen with his wife, Emily Blunt.
The film will be helmed by Paramount and Platinum Dunes, but Krasinski takes the win for most involvement with the film. He’s rewritten an earlier script draft, written by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, and will also serve as an executive producer alongside original scriptwriters and Allyson Seeger, in addition to starring in the film.
It’s definitely cool to see Krasinski expand his inventory of work, which shows more and more promise with time. A Quiet Place will be Krasinski’s third feature directorial. He’s also directed The Hollars, served as an executive producer on the recent Oscar-winner, Manchester By The Sea, and co-wrote Promised Land.
A Quiet Place is currently scheduled to begin production this fall, but both Krasinski and Blunt have their hands full. Krasinski will feature in Kathryn Bigelow’s Untitled Detroit Project and Paramount TV’s upcoming Jack Ryan series on Amazon, while the British-American actress is busy on-set for Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns. Of course, they juggle all of this with their full-time occupation as parents to two daughters, Hazel and Violet.
It’ll be interesting to see the pair’s real-life chemistry aid their first time sharing a screen together, so stay tuned for updates on A Quiet Place!
