Spike TV’s I Am is about to get up close and personal with the late Heath Ledger. The original documentary series examines the lives of extraordinary people from the stories told by their inner circles and the spotlight has shifted from JFK and Bruce Lee to the Australian star.
I Am: Heath Ledger will take a closer look at the Ledger’s filmography, which included The Patriot, Brokeback Mountain and the worldwide hit The Dark Knight, for which Ledger won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar posthumously.
He died in 2008 of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs at the age of 28 and left behind a daughter, Matilda, from his previous relationship with actress, Michelle Williams.
Ledger’s episode, which will no doubt touch upon his tragic death, will air this May.
