Johnny Depp Is Back On To Play Whitey Bulger In ‘Black Mass’ | Film News
In the world of film, actors are constantly accepting film roles they have previously turned down and Johnny Depp is no different. He has confirmed that he will play the role of infamous crime lord Whitey Bulger in the upcoming film Black Mass. It was rumoured that Depp previously stepped away from the role because his salary could not be agreed on, which led to other film executives removing themselves from the film, with Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart, Out Of The Furnace) now directing them film.
Black Mass is a biopic focusing on the story of Whitey Bulger who was a major crime lord in Boston, New York. The film will show his life during this period and also the sixteen years he was a fugitive on the run from the U.S Government, aided by FBI agent and childhood friend John Connolly who kept Bulger informed about the criminal investigations against him. In other news, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are also making a film on the King Pin with Damon playing Bulger, this should be interesting.
