Jonah Hill In Talks To Play Villain Role In ‘The Batman’ Reboot | Film News

We’re used to seeing Jonah Hill in comedies such as Superbad or 21 Jump Street, but the actor can take a dark side as well.

Indeed, Jonah Hill and Warner Bros are “at an early and sensitive stage” in discussions as both sides can’t decide which villain Hill would play in the forthcoming reboot of The Batman. The two top candidates are The Penguin and The Riddler.

However, Hill has never been considered as the Penguin, according to sources, since director Matt Reeves revealed it could be “a little too on-the-nose“, and so it seems he is in line for The Riddler role.

The Batman is directed and written by Matt Reeves and he wants to make it dark, taking inspiration from the hard-boiled noir tone of the earliest Batman comics.

Robert Pattinson has been chosen for the role of Batman, and he already tried on his Batsuit. In the feedback, he said it was “transformative“.

And it’s pretty astonishing, something that is incredibly difficult to get into, so the ritual of getting into it is pretty humiliating. You’ve got five people trying to shove you into something. Once you’ve got it on, it’s like, ‘Yeah, I feel strong, I feel tough, even though I had to have someone squeezing my butt cheeks into the legs“, he confessed.

Also, Jeffrey Wright is in talks to play Commissioner Gordon in The Batman.

All the characters could appear in the trilogy (yes, tree films have been set by Warner Bros) and maybe it’s for that reason, the talks with Hill are taking so long, and even if filming hasn’t started yet, The Batman is expected to be released on June 25, 2021.
