Jorja Smith has unveiled “Be Honest”, a brand-new single featuring Afro-fusion singer and songwriter Burna Boy that comes with a fitting music video.
Smith is a multi-award-winning British singer and songwriter who started into the music industry back in 2016. Smith has been releasing several hits since she first started and has been making collaborations with many international stars, including Kali Uchis, Drake and Kendrick Lamar.
Last year, Smith dropped her debut album titled Lost & Found, which has been critically acclaimed, and it achieved the number three spot at the UK Albums Chart. Smith has also received the ‘Best British Female Artist’ award at the 2019 Brit Awards and was nominated for the ‘Best New Artist’ Grammy this year too.
Now, she has teamed up with Burna Boy to make our summer by releasing a fresh new hit. “Be Honest” is a flirty and empowering single that shows a different side of Smith, making a huge contrast to her ‘chillaxing’ vibes in previous tracks.
The music video is directed by Amber Grace Johnson, who has worked with many global music stars before, including Rihanna and A$AP ROCKY.
It is filmed around different spots in London and it shows Jorja and her friends surviving to a really hot summer and Jorja singing and dancing along to the up-beat, catchy single. Burna Boy makes an appearance later in the visuals, joining Smith’s ‘party’ by showing off some of his best moves while singing his verse.
