The three boygenius members meet again!
Julien Baker has just unveiled “Favor”, a new song from her upcoming album Little Oblivions, in which we are lucky to find Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus, the two other members of boygenius. This new project also reveals a new challenge for Baker who abandons her intimate acoustic for a full-band sound.
On this new track, the other boygenius members join Baker on backing vocals, with their second-nature harmonies punctuating Baker’s raw lyrics.
Since the release of their EP boygenius in 2018, the band has not released any new projects. However, they have appeared as a single backup to music by Hayley Williams as well as on some of Phoebe Bridgers music. Nevertheless, it seems that the band is preparing new surprises for fans.
In a press statement, one of the members of the group, Lucy, said, “We sang on ‘Favor’ in Nashville the same day we recorded vocals for ‘Graceland Too’ and a song of mine. That day had the same atmosphere as when we recorded the boygenius EP. Making music was just a natural result of being together, easy as can be but also rare in a way that feels irreplicable”.
“Favor” but also “Hardline” and “Faith Healer”, are the three released tracks from the album Little Oblivions, available on February 26 Matador.
