Three years after their Tear The Root album from 2017, US electronic duo Kaleida returns with their captivating new single titled “Other Side“, which sees producer and keyboardist Cicely Goulder bringing back her uplifting synth-led sonic backdrop to the fore, along with Christina Wood’s warm and soaring vocals.
The single comes with a lockdown-driven music video filmed in Berlin and directed by Glashier, the video captures solo dancers performing in the empty streets of the German city.
The single and video also come with the duo announcing the upcoming release of their sophomore album Odyssey, which is due for release on August 28. The duo describe the 8-track project, which documents their journey over the past three years as “truly contemporary and timeless, providing a perfect antidote for the troubling times we find ourselves in“.
Speaking about how the single came about, considering the lockdown has meant that both artists have been living apart in the UK and the US, with limited time to physically record together, the duo say, “This was one of those tracks that just had the feeling right from the start and expressed a kind of creative hope we were both feeling, a feeling that something good was coming“.
