Birds fixing Kali Uchis‘ hair, bush-shaped helmet on Tyler, The Creator‘s head, Bootsy Collins‘ branded cereal and hot sauce… Director Nadia Lee Cohen clearly has her vivid signature style and unlimited imagination.
The vibrant vintage-style new video for “After The Storm” takes the artists to a surreal, partly animated world. With some bizarre fantasy elements, the visuals are sweet food for eyes with its highly saturated colors, impressive hairstyles, makeup and 60’s American cinema-inspired set.
Taken from Kali’s upcoming Fool’s Paradise album and released a couple of weeks ago, “After The Storm” single is all about finding “solace in the fact that we have to go through the bad stuff to truly get to the good,” as Kali explained earlier.
After having an incredibly successful 2017, she’s currently on the tour with Lana Del Rey as a supporting act and with her upcoming album on the horizon, it promises a very exciting year. Let’s watch this weirdly appealing new video for “After The Storm”:
