Last night Kanye West and Sunday Service Choir paid tribute to the late rap legend DMX with the stunning live performance!
Kanye and the gospel band opened the service with “Keep On Movin” originally by the Clark Sisters followed by the hymn “Jesus Loves Me“previously popularized by Whitney Houston and their original work “Excellent“. Although it was quite hard to spot Kanye West in the stage, Variety confirmed that he was in attendance.
Standing under the red lightening on the square stage, the performers shared their powerful and overflowing energy with all the audience who gathered to cope with the loss of the beloved rap veteran DMX.
The memorial service took place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, with DMX’s family and friends gathering together to reminisce and pay respect to the late legend in the breathtaking ceremony, which was livestreamed on DMX’s YouTube and Instagram accounts.
The star-studded audience included Jay Z, Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, Fabolous, Bobby Shmurda, ABoogie, ASAP Ferg, Busta Rhymes, Nas and many more.
The most touching moment of the ceremony was when one of DMX’s daughters remixed one of the rapper’s songs and turned it into a touching tribute to her father.
