In anticipation of his seventh studio album SWISH, Kanye West dropped a couple of unreleased tracks on Soundcloud yesterday October 19. And “Say You Will” stood out like a sore thumb as it is a reworking of the opening track on classic album 808s & Heartbreak.
The track features a rather experimental backdrop with Caroline Shaw‘s vocals manipulated in several different ways throughout and also nostalgic beeps previously used on the track of said album. It is clear that this track is in celebration of one of his most influential pioneering works and elements can be heard in the hip hop of today. You can listen to the track here.
