Katy Perry has found time out of the Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris Twitter war to release her music video, “Rise”.
The song is release prior to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. It is extremely uplifting, with lyrics and visuals, with video clips and voice overs of athletes winning and conquering, and some of defeat with them rising back up to their feet.
The song is has an inspirational and powerful message and a more serious tone to other Perry’s positive songs such as the poppier “Roar” and “Firework”.
“I hope this song can inspire us to heal, unite, and rise together. I am honored that NBC Olympics has chosen to use it as an anthem before and during the Rio Games,” Perry says about the song.
