Keeva’s pure music doesn’t need anything more than her rich voice, dynamic piano tunes and insignificant backup vocals for chorus – take her debut single “Whiskey” as a perfect proof. The same simplicity rule goes for the track’s music video, released yesterday.
The video, directed by Treve Jackson-Hicks features the artist and her piano. That’s it. No dramatic or amusing script needed, because all is said through the singer’s lyrics and soulful melodies. “Whiskey” is a break-up song and Keeva sings her heart out.
Keeva is half Irish, half Jordanian descent and both sides of the family had influence on her art. She confirms that many of her relatives were playwrights, poets, musicians or artists and she started writing songs since childhood.
After uploading a couple of her songs online, the artist was noticed by Grammy-nominated production team Niles City Sound, which is best known for their work with Leon Bridges. That’s how she started her career and it can be called luck, but on the other hand, missing such talents would be unfortunate.
We can expect more from Keeva in 2018, because this is just the beginning. Watch the music video for her debut release “Whiskey” below.
