Top Dawg Entertainment‘s very own Kendrick Lamar and SZA have an unveiled a brand new song today entitled “All The Stars“, the leading single following the announcement that Lamar and his TDE label boss, Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith have produced and curated the original soundtrack of one of the most anticipated films of this year, Black Panther.
Lamar was apparently selected for the task by the film’s director Ryan Coogler in a very innovative approach to film music collaboration.
“I am honored to be working with such an incredible artist whose work has been so inspirational, and whose artistic themes align with those we explore in the film. I can’t wait for the world to hear what Kendrick and TDE have in store” said Coogler.
The song incorporates a skippy percussion and bass laden beat with melodic synths and then builds into a crescendo of beautiful strings. SZA’s R&B vocals compliment the chorus while Kendrick’s verse adds nice contrast.
Black Panther is set to open February 16th, starring Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B. Jordan, Daniel Kaluuya, Forest Whitaker, and Angela Bassett. Make sure you catch the film when it opens and until then, have a listen to the new track below.
