Konstance Releases New Single ‘My Heart’ With Majeeed

Nigerian R&B and afrobeats artist Konstance has unveiled her latest single, “My Heart“. Following her standout collaboration with producer Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins on the soundtrack for the 2023 film adaptation of The Color Purple, Konstance’s new track continues to showcase her remarkable talent. “My Heart” was released on June 28 via Bankulli Entertainment, the label of renowned collaborator Bankulli.

Written and composed with rising afrobeats star Majeeed, who also provides guest vocals, “My Heart” is a captivating fusion of R&B and afrobeats. The song explores themes of young love and emotional longing, blending lush R&B melodies with vibrant afrobeats and dancehall rhythms.

Singing in English, Pidgin, and Yoruba, Konstance and Majeeed display a remarkable chemistry, delivering heartfelt lyrics and resonant songwriting. The music video, directed by Bushboy Machiavelli and shot in Lagos, complements the song’s narrative, bringing the track to life visually.

Konstance shares, “This is one of my favourite songs I’ve recorded so far. It’s about giving your heart up for love and hoping it doesn’t get broken. Although I’ve never been in love, I hope the sentiment resonates with listeners. Having Majeeed on the song was the best idea – what’s a love song without him?”

Since her debut last year with the breakout single “Melo”, Konstance has quickly risen to prominence. She won the Breakthrough Talent prize at the 2023 Silverbird Awards and has earned endorsements from industry heavyweights like Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, and Kizz Daniel.

Balancing her studies at Lagos State University, Konstance’s musical journey began with her top 10 finish on Nigerian Idol 2023. With the release of “My Heart”, Konstance solidifies her position as one of Nigeria’s most promising new talents.
