Fresh off her first Oscar nomination for portraying Princess Diana in Spencer, Kristen Stewart has signed on for her next project. She will star in Love Lies Bleeding, a romantic thriller for A24 that will be directed by Rose Glass (Saint Maud).
The film will reportedly examine a romance fueled by ego, desire and the American Dream. Glass is directing from the script she co-wrote with Weronika Tofilska (His Dark Materials). Film4 are also developing the project alongside the filmmakers and will co-finance with A24, who are producing and handling the film’s global release.
While little is known about the project right now, the prospect of Stewart and Glass teaming up is tantalizing. Stewart has completely escaped the Twilight shadow and reinvented herself as one of the best actors of her generation who frequently takes on daring projects, and Glass’s Saint Maud, her debut, was exactly that, earning her plenty of awards recognition.
The two should be an excellent fit together. Hopefully we learn more about the film very soon. The only other on-screen project Stewart currently has in the works is David Cronenberg‘s Crimes Of The Future, which also stars Viggo Mortensen and Léa Seydoux, but she’s also currently working on her directorial debut – romantic drama The Chronology Of Water.
