Kurt Geiger is going from strength to strength and their plan to open a new flagship store in London is proof of that. This year alone, the brand opened over 25 stores including 20 in the UK and another flagship store in Milan. The brand was founded in the 1960’s and is one British brand with a strong correlation with London. The brand has many sister brands including Kurt Geiger London, KG Kurt Geiger, Carvela Kurt Geiger, and Miss KG.
The brand has reported a sales increase of 13% in the first seven months of the year, taking its gross turnover to £210 million for those months, compared with £230 million for the whole of last year. The company had said they were expecting their sales figures to double in 2014 with “strong” core profits. Online sales were up 30 percent, with internet sales making up 20 percent of the business.
A lot of their success could be pinned down to popularity of the Bond & Britton high heel court shoes priced from £250 to £295 a pair and the Saffiano handbags. Celebrity endorsements with model Rosie Huntington Whiteley also helped a 50% rise in the sales of handbags. Celebrities spotted in Kurt Geiger include Jessie J, Molly King, Rihanna, Alexa Chung and One Direction in the men’s collection.
