Lánre – ‘Home’ EP | New Music

Following the release of her latest single “Home” which received rave reviews from the likes of MTV UK, MOBO.com and SBTV, British Folk/Soul singer, songwriter and musician Lánre is proud to present her brand new EP titled Home, packed with gripping songwriting, lush musicianship and Lánre’s warm and infectious vocal texture, to make for pure listening bliss.

The new EP from Lánre, featuring five outstanding new songs, comes hugely anticipated, following the release of her critically acclaimed debut album Pen Voyage Chapter One: Singing For Change in 2011 and an extensive 18-month worldwide tour, which saw Lánre on the road in the UK, Canada, France and Sweden among other countries.

Written, composed and produced by Lánre, with Richard Burrell (Rita Ora, Rudimental, The Noisettes) and Mike Dunne on guitars, Strings’ Nora Kalcheva on cello, Stewart Rawle on bass guitar and Feranmi Ogunseyinde (Rainy Milo, Josh Record) on drums and percussions, the Home EP is a compelling body of work and a passionate labour of love which explores heavy themes of spirituality, superstition, religion and homelessness among other pressing issues.

From the EP’s opening track “21 Days” which brilliantly explores the biblical relationship between Daniel and Angel Gabriel, to “Alàáfíà” which is not only a bold re-working of an 1847 hymn from Mary Peters in Yoruba but also a fitting ode to Lánre’s mother, to the resounding curtain call and title track “Home”, this EP makes for very essential listening in 2014. Lánre’s Home EP is out now on iTunes; listen to the full 5-track offering below.
