American actress, singer and pop star in the making, Laura Marano, has finally delivered her video for her debut single today (Monday, April 4).
The former Disney Channel’s Austin & Ally star has come on the music scene with her first official single, “Boombox”. The song is the first taste taken from her upcoming major debut studio album, which is expected to be released later this year, via Big Machine Records.
“Boombox” was written by Joe Kirkland, TJ Routon, Rami Jrade, Asia Whiteacre and Jason Dean. It was released on digital retailers on Friday, March 11. The song itself is a combination of teeny bopping with more adult sensuality. An infectious chorus combines with the verse build up, which broods to build atmosphere, to make a well crafted pop song.
In terms of the visuals, it basically takes place on the set of a music video, with actors spoofing what goes behind the scenes, with choreographers, directors and the like. It is quite humorous, but straddles that aforementioned line between teeny bopper and more adult themes.
