‘Les Miserables’ Actress Samatha Barks To Star In A New Musical | Film News
Three years after having played Éponine for the Oscar-winning Les Miserables, Samantha Barks is going back to musical thanks to her new role in the movie adaptation of Canadian stage musical Strike!. The movie, scripted and produced by musical original co-writers Danny Schur and Rick Chafe, will be directed by Joseph Novak, who hopes to start shooting this summer.
The drama tells the illicit love affair between a Catholic man and a Jewish woman during the 1919 general strike in Winnipeg, Canada. Barks is set to play the leading female character Rebecca Almazoff. After the critics (and we) were impressed by her stunning performance in Les Miserables, we are sure she will do a wonderful job in this new musical adventure too.
